Boy, he was something else, the titles alone of PDQ's works put me in stitches.

PDQ Bach: Hansel and Gretel and Ted and Alice

Lucky you, keberoxu!

The videos that WQXR (link above) put on their site are pretty good; I've watched several (most are about 10 minutes each).

Goodness, it makes sense that he would be that old, however
I always remember him as he was when he would jump, literally, onto the stage.
We may not see his like again.

I was in a choral group which was contracted to perform, with him,
his Twelve Liebeslieder Polkas.
He was gentle and genial to work with.

And the performance was sold out, which rarely happened for our little chorus.

At age 88 Peter Schickele has shuffled off this mortal stage, possibly squeezing past a few improbably instruments on his way. He was a serious composer but is best known for his parodies written as the discoveries by JS Bach's "last and by far the least of his 20-odd children" PDQ Bach.

From the New York Times: Peter Schickele, Composer and Gleeful Sire of P.D.Q. Bach, Dies at 88
He wrote more than 100 symphonic, choral, solo instrumental and chamber works. But he was better known, and celebrated, as a musical parodist. Who can forget the “Concerto for Horn and Hardart”?

From Classic FM: ‘PDQ Bach’ musical satirist has died – this Beethoven 5 parody captures Peter Schickele’s rare genius

From WQXR radio: 7 Hilarious Videos Celebrating P.D.Q. Bach
