It seems it is not the "Flowery Garden " related to the Dark-eyed sailor family The Flowery Garden Charles Finnemore Bridgewater 10/24/1943 As I went a-walking one summer’s morn, all in the month of June Down by yon flowery garden to take the sweet perfume It was there beneath an orchard tree A bonnie lass I chanced to see To me ha ha ha teedle oma dee Her clothes were above her knee Her garters they were of green silk a little below her knee As she, laying on those mossy banks, most pleasing for to see I stood amazed all at the sight I gazed all on her beauty bright To me ha ha ha teedle oma dee She had my heart ensnared In viewing her dial all around I found it was not right It wanted a hammer and a hand before her clock would strike |
