Subject: RE: Buckle Rash on Guitar. From: Johnny J Date: 03 Jun 26 - 08:25 AM Wear a jumper, a longer t shirt/shirt outside your trousers or is this too obvious? You can get "guards" which fit on the back of instruments too. Primarily for tone enhancement but effective against scratching too. I've never used one myself but I try not to "hug" the instruments to my body as this stifles sound projection. |

Subject: Buckle Rash on Guitar. From: GUEST,saulgoldie Date: 03 Jun 26 - 08:11 AM I was wondering how/if others dealt with scratches on the back of a guitar from belt buckles. Maybe not everyone notices or cares. But it does matter to others as well as myself, because I have seen discussions about it. So I let my engineer's mind go on subconscious for a spell. And I came up with a couple of different ways one could cover the buckle with some sort of material. I came up with a couple of ways that were relatively easy to construct. But as I was typing this, I realized that I had maybe solved it, but I overthought it. So... Alls you need is a section from an old sock. Everyone has either a sock with holes, or a single sock whereas the mate for it has gone into the parallel universe. Like I said, maybe not a big deal for some folks. But... Saul |
