Subject: RE: advice on Bach recordings From: Dave (the ancient mariner) Date: 08 Apr 00 - 09:47 AM Both recordings on the same CD would be difficult to find. I have an excellent version of Jesu Joy Of Mans Desiring by Liona Boyd on guitar; and Andrew Davis conducting the English Chamber Orchestra. I love Linoa's personal style rather than her technical ability. John Williams does a very nice rendition of the same piece.. Yours, Aye. Dave |

Subject: RE: advice on Bach recordings From: Liz the Squeak Date: 06 Apr 00 - 07:16 PM Jim Couza on 'Jubilee' I think, does both pieces on a hammered dulcimer - only time I've ever really wanted to listen to Bach, I'm afraid Jesu Joy has never been the same since as a young chorister I had to sing it 3 times in one day at 3 different weddings..... It goes really well as a triple jig..... LTS It may not be 'Jubilee', but I'm pretty sure it is.... |

Subject: advice on Bach recordings From: Charcloth Date: 06 Apr 00 - 06:41 PM hey folks can anybody recomend a recording of J.S.Bach on guitar or harpsichord that has "Minuet in G Major" and "Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring" on the same recording? I may be a folkie but I still love Bach's melodies |
