Subject: Desperately Seeking Two Childhood Songs From: GUEST,f14fxr@mail.tqci.net Date: 11 Apr 00 - 06:57 PM Please help me if you can. I am looking for the lyrics to two songs my dad used to sing in a country band many years ago. The first one is called "You're a Humdinger". I think it was originally performed and recorded by the Farmer Boys in the 30's. The other song is "Playin' Dominoes and Shootin' Dice". I don't remember who wrote it, although I know it was originally recorded on the old 10" 78 RPM records on the Capitol Records label. I had located a copy of the record, but the owner felt it was made of platinum-coated gold and priced it accordingly. It was going to cost me 1/2 the price for him to write down the lyrics! If you can help, please write to me. I can't afford much if you are wanting to be reimbursed. But it would really make my parents' day when I can sing these two songs to them on their 50th anniversary, coming up in just a few days. Thanks in advance! |
