Subject: RE: Help: Bill Whelan articles wanted??!! From: Ed Pellow Date: 18 Apr 00 - 01:55 PM John, Can't say I'm a fan of riverdance - but each to their own... You can find his homepage www.billwhelan.com here.(Although I can't get through to it at the moment) There's a lengthy article in Dirty Linen here, and an overview of his career here Hope this helps Ed |

Subject: Bill Whelan articles wanted??!! From: GUEST,john.envall@se.abb.com Date: 18 Apr 00 - 01:06 PM Greetings, I´m a great fan of traditional celtic and scandinavian folkmusic in general, but in particular I find my self very attached to folkmusic with modern influences. As an outstanding example I would like to mention the music of the Riverdance show (Wolfstone not forgotten). I have noticed, to my frustration, that talking ´bout Riverdance very few people mention the music. It´s mostly the dancers and the choreography that get the attention. In my opinion Bill Whelan broke musical barriers with his astonishing Riverdance compositions. I know many of you out there don´t agree, but I think he opened some musical doors and took the traditional irish folk music a little bit further. Does any body out there agree or? Beeing a great fan of his compositions, I have from time to time searched for articles with "the man", so far I have come out with ZERO. Does any body know if there are any articles on the net and where to find them? Thanks a lot... John |
