WOW IS RIGHT!!!!!!charlie monroe was my idol when i was growing up and listening to him live on radio station WSJS-AM in winston-salem,n.c..he was on each monday -saturday,from 12:00noon till 12:15 pm,in the late forties. i remember how i cried for days when i started to school(sept 1944)because i wouldnt get to hear his radio program. this cd release of charlie and bill monroe is sure to stir up some great tresured memories.I CAN'T WAIT,MYSELF!!!!!

Exactly, WOW! (flash, red, big, italics, bold, etc.) I certainly treasure my old RCA/Bluebird double album, but this will be SO much more! I read in another thread that someone said something to the effect that they were great instrumentally, but block out the vocals. That is strictly an opinion, and I'm here to say LISTEN to the vocals ~~ some of the best old time music out there!

Here's some great news for lovers of old time, bluegrass etc if they haven't yet heard it. Rounder is to reissue the complete classic RCA/Bluebird 1930s recordings by Bill and Charlie Monroe. The first volume 'What Would You Give in Exchange for Your Soul?' is due for release on 20 June this year. Wow!
