Subject: RE: Alex Pangman/Toronto Any info out there? From: Dale Rose Date: 09 May 00 - 07:45 PM Heh, figured you'd know something, Rick. Jeff Healey and Warwick Communications have released some of the stuff by one of my FAVORITES, Annette Hanshaw on their Sensation label. She started recording at 16 in 1926, quitting the music business at the "old" age of 24 in 1934. Finding Alex Pangman who recorded her first CD for Sensations last year was a bonus. She cites Annette Hanshaw as an influence. "Daddy Won't You Please Come Home" was a tune I first heard performed by Annette Hanshaw, and one which I have always enjoyed singing, perhaps because I was so inspired by Annette's wonderful delivery and voice. info here Thanks. Keep me posted if you run across anything new. |

Subject: Alex Pangman/Toronto Any info out there? From: Dale Rose Date: 09 May 00 - 05:47 PM I recently heard good things about young jazz singer Alex Pangman of Toronto. I have read a good bit about her on the internet, even listened to a few clips. Now I'm looking for first hand information. Anyone seen her? Opinions? |
