Subject: RE: Open Invitation -UK or visting Catters From: Peg Date: 26 May 00 - 11:41 AM that British Isles hospitality, there is nothing like it! The session in Glasgow sounds lovely and I would love to attend. I am pretty sure we will not make it up to Scotland next month in our travels (June 14-26) but you never know...I would love to attend as many musical things as possible...and a trip to Scotland has been on my mind for years now... Terri, you and I have already been in touch and no doubt Berta and I will barge in at some point! :) Let me know if you want to come to any of the pagan haunts with us...and it woudl be great if we could time it so we can attend a session... Jon, I love northern Wales and have fond memories of my visit to Llanduno and Conwy in 1988...I would love to make it there as well...but still not sure. Thanks to you all for your offers. Anyone coming to Boston (where the traditional music scene is quite lively! especially Irish sessiuns)is also welcome to stay with me, I have plenty of room (spare bed, couches, back porch...) and lots of kitties!
all the best, |

Anyway, good clubs on Tuesday and Thursday in this area and anyone who wants to check out Hampshire is more than welcome. |

Subject: RE: Open Invitation -UK or visting Catters From: Jon Freeman Date: 25 May 00 - 06:53 PM Steve, if I ever get that way, I will look it up. On the score of open invitations, I only have a 1 bedroom flat but will gladly offer floor space to any Mudcatter who wants to visit Llandudo or alternatavely if it is workable,, I'll take the floor in the living room and make the bed room available. Jon (Who's quite used to sleeping on floors, couches, etc) |

Subject: Open Invitation -UK or visting Catters From: Scabby Douglas Date: 25 May 00 - 06:14 PM The Campsie Folk Club has an open session every 2nd Sunday. The next one is this coming Sunday (28th May). It's very informal, very friendly.. A big sit-around singing session with some tunes, all types of instruments and voices welcome.. If you don't sing or play, come and read us a poem, or tell us a story... We usually kick-off at 8:30 pm, mostly running till midnight. Oh... where are we, I hear you ask? Near Glasgow (in Scotland - which is north of England) Milton of Campsie The Kincaid House Hotel... Head out towards Kirkintilloch, and take a right to Milton of Campsie.. The Kincaid House is on the left as you head into Milton. No admission... no fees... no egos... Just nice folks and good music and the hotel lay on sandwiches.. (I mean they provide sandwiches at half-time) I don't mean that they lay on them.... Good beer too.... Just say Steven invited you.. Because... I have been having a dialogue with Graham, who sort of runs things..(ha!) trying to convince him that the computer and the internet are *not* destroying society, and people's inclination to socialise and communicate, but are instead enhancing these tendencies, because we can now reach out to like minded people across the world... Come along, look in, sit down, join in..
Cheers M'Dears...
