Well now that I see it, I like it, but I don't like it because before it was different than it is now and since its different its not the same and that lack of sameness makes it odd to use unless you use it when its nots so odd after you get used to it if you ever get used to it because its lack of familiarity make it strange and the strangeness leads to lack of use unless you overcome the strangeness and why can't you let things be unless you want to improve which is okay unless the improvement is not improved and is different than it was and since its different its not the same and that lack of sameness makes it odd.....Wait a minute.....I think I've been here before.......Oh well.....

I'm with Irish Sergeant here - I like the idea that every time I think I've worked out the intricacies I find there's another clever dodge behind them. Like Levels in those Dungeon Type games my son used to play all the time.

I tend to use the DT index when I'm looking for a song - the Super Search gets too interesting and I get side tracked. I mostly use that to find old threads where someone said something I want to check or quote.

Very Kewl, Max! I am for whatever changes make it easiest for you, Dick, and Susan. The SuperSearch is fantastic and I am really glad it is back on! The DT index is nice for a quick lookup, esp. using the alphabet, but I don't use it as much as SuperSearch.

A personal feling, Max, even if it means changes to what some of used to, one standard search with its rules has to be better than tring to work out which rules/special meaning characters should be applied to which search engine...

It works when viewing songs delivered from the SuperSearch, not the traditional Digitrad search. Dick and I discussed just getting rid of the traditional Digitrad Search, cause the new SuperSearch is better and more efficient for our server load. My fear is that folks who are used to it and its searching methods will miss it. You know how folks like change around here. The SuperSearch way has all the lyrics in SQL Server which is much better than the proprietary AskSam version for the web. It also lets us do a whole lot more neat stuff with like cross index and such.

I tried this out on Spancil Hill, since that's the classic one when it comes to threads discussions, and I couldn't find the feature. Therte's a lot of songs out there, and each one would need to be done by hand, but that's one that should get priority.

In thge meantime the supersearch facility throws up the threads with the song titles as well as the DT songs, so it's not too hard hunting out the discussions anyway. But this is a very handy new facility. Max strikes again.

Like I said, it's a neat feature....how come it only shows ups sometimes though? Not complaining, but wondering if there is actually a reason or if it's one of "those computer things"

Yes, this is something I added a short while back. I still get tons of emails from people who didn't find a song in the db and ask me for the lyrics. I always reply to check the forum or post a message rather than ask me.

I will always keep trying to manage this vast data in the best, most creative way. It is actually quite a blessing having this much good data in which to fiddle with. I get great joy out of such fiddling.

no - this is a complete line across the top saying "Look in the forum for discussions about [title of song] : done as an autolink link to supersearch for the title..

Are you talking about the green link things Mario? They've been around for awhile.

today - on SOME of the lyrics pages I've pulled up, I've gotten a line at the top with a link to a forum search on the title of the song. Is this a new feature? I've never seen it before. Or have I just been totally oblivious to something that's been going on for a while?

Whichever, it's neat and a nice feature!
