Subject: RE: Lyr/Chords Req: Fire on the mountain/Tucker B From: Lonesome EJ Date: 17 Jun 00 - 03:03 PM Thanks Pixie! I had attempted to figure this out on my own and came up with Em Am for the verses, going to Em C on the last line, which also seems to work. Some of those verses are a bit tricky to get in aren't they - "empty cartridges and blood lined the good earth of the street" (now that's a tongue twister) |

Subject: Lyr Add: FIRE ON THE MOUNTAIN (George McCorkle) From: Pixie Date: 17 Jun 00 - 11:14 AM Cool! I can help! The chords are Em, C for verses, chorus is G,D,C,G; second repeat of chorus go back to Em. Words: FIRE ON THE MOUNTAIN (George McCorkle) V1 Took my family away from my Carolina home, Had dreams about the west and started to roam; Six long months on a dust-covered trail, They say Heaven's at the end but so far it's been hell - And there's - CHORUS: Fire on the mountain, lightning in the air, Gold in them hills and it's waiting for me there. V2 We were digging and sifting from 5 til 5, Selling everything we found, just to stay alive; Gold flowed free like the whiskey in the bars, Sin was the big thing, Lord, and sin was a star (I think!!!) An there's - CHORUS V3 Dance hall girls were the evening treat, Empty cartridges and blood line the good earth of the street; Men were shot down for the sake of fun, Or just to hear the noise of their .44 guns. An there's - CHORUS V4 Now my widow, she grieves by my grave, Tears flow free for her man she couldn't save; Shot down in cold blood by a gun that carried fame, All for a useless and no-good, worthless claim. And there's - CHORUS, repeat 2x Enjoy! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0uMWbZj-gWg |
