What a great song.

Here are the chords (I'm working them out as I sit at the computer - so you might have to test them). In the key of C:

C
I'm trouble she said,

F C
spread out on the floor of her father's house

Dm G
her promise was almost undone

C
Under her tongue

F Am B7
dissolving her responsibilities

Em
to finally deny everyone

G
with every unflattering comparison.

C G F C
All grown up and you don't care any more

C E Am G
And you hate all the people that you used to adore

C E
And you despise all the ruins and lies

Am F G
Of the life you left before

Am
Did I hear you right,

Bb C
you're feeling hounded and pushed around

Bb G
You wanna just lay down and die

Am
If all of this life

F C
has been such a big disappointment to you

Dm
Why don't you stop blaming some guy

Bb G
And go give the next one a try

then the second verse and chorus should have the same chords.

good luck

Callie

(ps: "Couldn't Call It Unexpected IV" is a better song!!)

Yo, Steve Here's the words, anyway, but then again, you probably have them.
I haven't heard the song in years, but if nobody comes up with the chords in the next 4/5 days, I'll work them out myself from the record - which I have somewhere around here - and post them.
I feel, though, that a decent search (which I didn't do), of the Costello sites as I have listed here at Google.com Elvis Costello All Grown Up, might bring you closer to your quest.

Keep us posted.

B.
