Many thanks Dan. And it helps to know how long the journey is. Yes, I don't want to miss the 'Last Train from Wealdstone'. I'd have make a monkey of myself.

sorry couldn't stop myself.

Kind regards, Fortunato (chance)

I've tried it twice. It works and the Royal Oak is just a reasonable walk from the Underground station. We were staying in South Kensington and took the tube to Harrow/Wealdstone. It's about a 1 hour journey. The all-important thing is to find out from the platform workers when the last train to central London leaves and try to get the one before that... just in case.

Have a nice sing-song and, if you think of it, please say 'hello' to everyone from Dan Milner & Bob Conroy.

All the best,
Dan

Sham, we obviously share more than a first name and compulsive posting disorder- I lived in Stanmore for 10 years, mid'70s - mid'80s!

Hello The Shambles!

Thanks very much I will explore your link. I appreciate your time and effort. I hope to connect with local folks, some have reponded in London, as the trip grows closer.

All the best Fortunato (Chance)

There is a little map of how to find the club Here. The best plan would be to go to Harrow and Wealdstone station by underground/tube train and walk from there.

Take the District (green) or Circle (yellow) Line from South Kensington to Paddington and change to the Bakerloo (brown) Line. Harrow and Wealdstone is at the end of the line.

This area is my old stomping ground but I have not lived there for many years. Maybe there is someone out there who is local and could meet and or accompany you there? Anyway have a good night.

To ensure that you find the place and that you do not spend all your hard-earned cash on the trip. The best option woould be an underground (tube) train to Wealdstone or near. Ask at the station and depending on how close you are walk or phone for a taxi. If you intend to return the same way remember to find out the time of the last train back.

In truth it is not too far from where you are staying and there is probably a bus that will take you there, or close. I will give it a bit more thought too and come back.

UK Catters, I'm headed for London next month and I hope to make the Singers Night on Sept 25 at the Herga, Royal Oak. But can I get there, realisticly, on public transportation, or must I hire a car? I will be staying in South Kensington. Is it a long way? Hard to find? etc. Regards Fortunato (Chance Shiver)
