Subject: RE: Lyric Plea From: GUEST,Fibula Mattock Date: 29 Aug 00 - 11:51 AM I had a quick search and couldn't find the lyrics. This is what I can remember of this song (and I'm not writing in all the lllllll's - it would take far too long!): I used to play my wee banjo And rest it on my knee But now the strings have broken down And it's no good to me I took it the mender's shop To see what he could do And when he gave it back to me It was as good as new (Unfortunately!) |

Subject: Lyric Plea From: GUEST,Cornelius Date: 29 Aug 00 - 11:27 AM Does anyone know the words to the song that goes "I u-l-l-used to p-l-lay my yel-l-low banjel-l-lo and rel-l-lest it onl-l-lon my knee-l-l-l-e" (It's a bit difficult to spell out but if you've heard the song you'll know what I mean) I think it (the banjo) is broken and taken to the menders - but what happens next? |
