Subject: RE: BS: Help with Fireworks Shop From: Sorcha Date: 27 Oct 00 - 06:23 PM Patrish, I really hate to rain on your parade, but you won't get much help from me. I do not approve of fireworks being purchased and used by individuals. There are far too many injuries and fires caused by them to be worth the paltry amount of entertainment. I do support the large, public displays put on by professionals, but I have seen serious accidents even at those. The difference is that fire trucks and trained fire control people are ON SITE and standing by to assist. During the US BiCentennial the display I was watching had two major failures--a large mortar type shell went off on the ground (delay fuse shorted out) and a large ground ground board fell over and started a grass fire. If the Fire Dept had not been there, it would have been a major disaster.............. |
