If we end up going there, I'll keep an eye out. It's encouraging to hear that Scots musicians are heading there - I'm finding that my favorite songs are from Scotland. Thanks for the info. |

Subject: RE: Help! Celtic musicians in Switzerland? From: GUEST,Guest, Max Tone - cookieless Date: 06 Nov 00 - 06:52 PM Hey, Susan Marie, I've known many Scots musos head for green pastures in Switzerland - to work, or just busk, so there should be a few about. NY Jazz harpist Park Stickney married a Swiss lass, and spends awhile in the Alps. If he's doing a gig anywhere near you, DON'T miss it! I saw him in concert in Edinburgh this spring, he gave my daughter a harp lesson, and I was lucky enough to join a great session with him and about 15 of Scotland's top Clarsach players. Heaven. Subject: Help! Celtic musicians in Switzerland? From: GUEST,SUsan-Marie Date: 03 Nov 00 - 04:03 PM My husband is contemplating a job offer that would take us from Maryland USA to Basel Switzerland. I'm excited at the prospect of living in Switzerland, but desolate at the thought of leaving the celtic music scene around here, especially the band I sing with. Can any Euro-'cats tell me if I will I be able to find celtic folkies in Basel? This is what I get for putting off the FSGW get-away to "maybe next year...." |
