Boy, did I screwup royally. For some reason I missed that GP had told me he'd do Dec 14. Ise sorry, folks. We contrived to have a good time anyway. I will confirm a reschedule with GP and everyone else. Definite is MMario's concert on Dec. 7.

Uncle Jacque - no reason why anyone on PalTalk can't open rooms. But it would be easier for mudcatters to FIND if you just opened up the regular room - maybe we should make it a custom to inquire if there is a "theme" going at the moment if we enter an impromptu mudcat session.

FWIW, I would operate the Concert Room in exactly the same way as BigChuck does and for same reasons.

The session room can cope with room hoppers, and I believe should be open (and has had some great room hoppers as a result) but in a concert, there needs to be more control. I think that the current situation could be likened to on one hand a person buying a ticket to go to a concert and on the other, someone poping into the local bar to join the folk club.

As for the ratings of the session room, I would like to give that an adult rating for the reasons above (I got censored a few nights ago for typing "CDNow don't really give a shit about folk musicians" - in front of 4 adults who I know well and know would not be offended) but there is no way of legislating for the odd comment (or as Sandy says being ourselves) without opening the doors for abuse.

Jon

To answer Uncle Jaque, I created the room as an "adult room to allow many of us our "normal conduct" and for no other reason. I certainly don't expect offensive material from GospelPicker. I created a locked room for the concerts because of some of the disruptive behavior from room hoppers that I have seen on PalTalk.

gidday UJ

when you click to enter a padlocked room you are asked to enter the appropriate password for that room

As for the other rooms idea, just fine, if you can round up enough people at any one time, but it's hard enough to get a "quorum" in the main room usually

Sounds like a plan. Questions: Why is an "Adult" site required for "Gospelpicker"? For some reason, I associate a handle like that with someone who is apt to be doing the kind of music which might be considered "Family Freindly". Is this speculation unfounded? I'll plan to check in tomorrow nite regardless, and I reckon it shouldn't take long to discern just what is going on - and where we go from there. Password? I have always gotten in using my own PalTalk password; where does this other one come in? Would it be appropriate for Mudcatters to open "branch offices" of the song-circle in seperate rooms? I'm thinking of a "Gospel" room, and perhaps a "Sea Chantey" room which could run independantly or at the same time as the main room. What thinkest thou? As an aside; glad to have this forum back up - I was locked out for nearly 5 days, as were others in the songcircles which were still operating. It surely was missed!

GospelPicker will perform for us on Thursday, Nov. 30, at 8:00 pm EST in the PalTalk Mudcat Concert Room. You can reach this by checking the "show adult sites" box and using the password "marmot". This was rescheduled as a result of GP's computer crashing.
