Subject: RE: share a lick-guitar From: Rasta Date: 05 Jan 01 - 01:01 PM John--at the moment Ill try n simplify it by saying that bassicly your playing the third string and then you pick up on the first and second together. so its 3/ 21/ 3/ 21 more or less ,its a rhytyinm lick ROCKABILLY STYLE . I just thought Id try this on the mudcat to see where it goes. maybe it was a bad idea ,perhaps not. Good luck Rastaaa Oh yes its in the key of E, jusst remember its a D7 at third and fourth fret plus add your left hand pinky to fifth fret off and on looks like a cross sorf of |

Subject: RE: share a lick-guitar From: catspaw49 Date: 04 Jan 01 - 07:57 AM Rasta, I would advise against licking your guitar as the acid content in your saliva is detrimental to most lacquers. Additionally, the taste can be unpleasant. Spaw |

Subject: share a lick-guitar From: Rasta Date: 04 Jan 01 - 01:15 AM besides all the great licks Ive heard from the greats and may I mention the great pickin I believe Bruce Langhorne did on Dont think twice ,heres a lick a late friend of mine taught me years ago, kinda rocka billy but fun--- play likea D7th at third and fourth fret which is actually an E 7th. heres the hard part-- hit the third string with your right hand thumb or flat pick--then with pinky of left hand on second string at fifth fret, pick up the second and first string together--then pick the third strig again and after lifting the pinky of the fret pick the second and first string again.///now pick the second and first string with your left hand pinky on the second string at fifth fret pulling it off as soon as you sound both string 1 and 2.///then resolve back to the third string and play that alone.////as u see you keep going back to the third string and playing that alone and the first and second you pull together----////Improvise, good luck ,hope someone get it-----Rastaaaa |
