Shouldn't really joke about the departed -- this was Steve Allen's version of Les Brown and his Band of Renown. I don't suppose Les Brown was a great innovator, but he did keep the big band torch flying long after it went out; and carried it to a lot of war zones backing up Bob Hope. A tip of the hat. Now on his last sentimental journey.
