Khandu, You need to make it plain in your invitation that you mean the river, not the state. It might get you a larger crowd. How many people can you house for several nights?

You are somewhat incorrect on one point, tho. I never met MJH (kick my own ass!). I did know a dear friend of his, Tunk Arthur. However, you are correct about anothr point. I do need to hang out with a different crowd!

I must also decry something else you said. I wasn't on hiatus! I do not do dope!

Khandu my friend!!!! I am glad to see you back!!!!! Sorry it was a lousy time for you. You need to hang out with a better crowd of people.......so I'm glad for your sake you're back among us.

Max had a thing on Mudcat talking about MJH and I told him in chat that we had a member who knew him but was on "hiatus." Happy you've now "hied yer ass" back among us.

Had a grand time, I did! All the Mississippi Mudcatter's were invited. I showed up precisely on time. I was thrilled to see me. I had responded to my threads many times, and felt that I had gotten to know me well thru the Mudcat Cafe. But I found myself full of surprises. I was sad to find that my sense of humor wasn't as astute as I had expected, but when I picked up my guitar, I was amazed to hear better playing than I expected.

However, conversation with me was somewhat strained as apparently all that interested me was Mississippi John Hurt and wise-cracks about Spaw (which I resented!). I soon grew bored with me and asked me politely to please go home and don't come to my next get-together. I think I resented it, because I cussed a bit and slammed out in a huff.

Well, I learned my lesson. Next time I'll invite the Arkansas Catters!
