Subject: RE: Change register From: AllisonA(Animaterra) Date: 02 Feb 01 - 04:49 PM And make sure the songs don't have too broad a range to begin with. Depending on the age and experience of the children, I would stay above A-below-middle-C and below the top E of the staff, for the average classroom singer. |

Subject: RE: Change register From: nutty Date: 02 Feb 01 - 02:08 PM I t's called transposition and is quite easy to achieve 1. Decide which note you want the piece of music to start on 2.Count in semitones ( up or down ) the difference between the original note and the new note 3. Do the same to all the other notes in the piece of music eg. 1 semitone up from C is Csharp - 1 semitone up from F sharp is G 2 semitones down from C is Bflat - 2 semitones down from F sharp is E etc. |

Subject: RE: Change register From: sophocleese Date: 02 Feb 01 - 12:47 PM Find the highest note of the song and the lowest note of the song. Lower or raise the song until these notes are within the range of the children. Continue to ask more questions about this here so that we can help a little more. |
