Ms Lemon

Well, your singing was pretty good too! (Who was the nut under the lemon squeezing machine BTW? Or have I crossed threads?)

Kitty

See you tomorrow. If previous years are anything to go by I'll be combining ticket collecting with eating at Chez Nous. Might even have a lemonade to wash it down...

Mrs Lemon

I started a thread on the 2003 festival yesterday - guess I'll know where to find you, though I'm not sure it'll be lemonade weather.

I'm going to be there - I prefer the English sessions at the Rose and Crown to the Irish ones. But there's also a great line-up for the concerts - don't miss Waterson:Carthy or Spiers and Boden for some really great English music and song.

The Sunday Sing around the stairs in the sports hall was great last year. And there are some interesting workshops - oh, I can't wait!

We'll be in a camper van in that field by the river - uncomfortably close to the river, given that it's hardly stopped raining for a week. Could be interesting if we all get bogged down and can't go home - wouldn't that be awful?

Just dug this one up because Chippenham is here again, this coming w/e. So let's ask the question again. I shall be there and so will Schantieman. Come on let's have a roll call, and maybe a bit of a party?

ok.. if you hear someone singing A Stor Mo Chroi... then it may well be me... lol

Indeed as usual I will be resident in the Old Road Tavern from the Friday until the Monday evening. Will be pleased to see whoever wishes to come.

I would certainly recommend it.

Hi Ella, that must have been the Old Road Tavern. I was there a lot playing the melodeon in the Irish session in the middle bar.

I'll be back this year with East Saxon Sword again and should have time for a few tunes as well.

Maybe Liz the Squeak and the Bratling will come this year.

Yes, we'll be there. We only discovered it last year and found it one of the nicest festivals we had ever been to. We camped down near the river & the water rose to about three tents behind us & the mud was mega-squelchy everywhere. Brilliant atmosphere etc. We'll be camping again this year & we'll be going to the excellent concertina workshops again - which I recommend to anyone who is thinking of getting one : you can attend either or both of a set of English or Anglo workshops, and they supply the instruments for the workshops. We came away having rushed out to buy the recommended instruction book, but haven't yet been able to afford the instrument - but I'm working on it...
It would be lovely to meet up with you Ella, and with as many M'catters as get there.

See ya there...

Kris

Was just wondering if any mudcatters from the UK go to the Chippenham folk festival?

I went for the day last year, with some friends... enjoyed the day... there was everything from a good Irish music session... a world music session and plenty of live bands, ceilis to go to...

Is anyone going this year... Hopefully all being well, I will be going...

Perhaps it would be a chance for UK caters to meet up?
