Subject: RE: Thought for the day - February 17, 2001 From: Gypsy Date: 17 Feb 01 - 11:46 PM Ah, but February is a grand time for idleness, music, and laughter. We can blithely ignore the garden, which is under water. You can't plough mud. You can't repair fences, you really can't do anything outside. So, we are forced to play music, indulge in the internet, and various other hobbies. This is when i have time to see friends, and visit family. I LOVE the depths of winter! |

I keep wondering what happened to December, let alone February. I always seem to be several months behind the rest of the world. Maybe that's why I don't enjoy Holidays? |

Subject: Thought for the day - February 17, 2001 From: katlaughing Date: 17 Feb 01 - 12:42 AM It seems this February has gone by without much of note. I don't even remember anything about Groundhog day, on the Mudcat, or elsewhere. I guess he must've seen his showdow here because we've had about 10-12 inches of snow accumulate since then. Some of it has melted, in the sunny and traffic-worn spots around town. IN the shadows and places where it was corraled and drifted up, it is dirty and crunchy on top, packed solid icy underneath. Living out where everything is far and wide and almost nothing is within easy walking distance, I forget how much it means to get out of the house and drive around. I think I went back in my den along with the groundhogs. Had a middle ear thing which made me wobbly and not safe to drive a car for a couple of weeks, so...I think that is why I missed so much of February. Got up, fell back, saw my shadow and pulled in my horns!**BG** (Yeah, I know groundhogs don't have horns, but what else can I say? "Pulled in my teeth, my paws?")**BG** So...where did February go?
