Subject: RE: Help: Emigration - songs & Stories From: Margaret V Date: 14 Mar 01 - 05:02 PM Hi, Lucy. You might want to contact the Pendarvis museum in Mineral Point, Wisconsin. It's a property of the State Historical Society of Wisconsin, and is a collection of several mid-19th century cottages built/lived in by Cornish emigrant lead miners. There's a bit of info at www.shsw.wisc.edu/sites/pend but if you contact the staff they might give you further information on Cornish emigration during that era (1830s and 40s). All the best, Margaret |

Subject: Emigration - songs & Stories From: Hawker Date: 14 Mar 01 - 04:40 PM Hi, I am planning a schools project and wondered if any of you out there in the ether have families that hail from Cornwall? especially those NOT living in the UK! Can any of you recommend songs about emigration - for whatever reason I am contacting a number of american Cornish societies and Australian Cornish societies etc. but would be grateful of any info anyone can offer, Thanks Lucy |
