Jeff,

Unfortunately I do not have a PalTalk-compliant computer at the moment. I'm bringing a mini-recorder in the event I can catch one verse of the melody from you on the song.

What about meeting for dinner before the show? Seamus indicates the break between the shows is very short. He says there are several good restaurants right there by Godfrey's. We'll check here and e-mail before starting out a bit before noon, but if we are not going to be at the restaurant right across from Godfrey's we'll leave word at Godfrey's where we are heading, for you and for Seamus if he has a little time pre-show.

Don't forget we are jamming up here again the 18th-- there will be kids here again. *G* And almost tropical weather! *G*

~Susan

Ok Susan,

See you at the early show! You two have a safe trip to Bethlehem. Unfortunately, I don't think I am going to be able to do much picking tomorrow, because I need to pick up Tyler at my friends house right after the first show back in Allentown. :-( Oh well another time. I will try to post the lyrics to my song for Tyler on the thread you started, if I can figure out how to put in the line breaks. Wow there are some real pretty lyrics on that thread you started. Do you ever use pal talk? I often sing on pal talk and could teach you the tune on pal talk sometime if you would like? I am songman39 on pal talk.

Jeff, I believe DB decided he would not be able to come this time.

I would love to take you up on your kind offer another time if that would be OK with you. This time around... Ummm... I think a little privacy may be in order. *G*

I hope Seamus will take you up on your offer tho-- lucky you and Tyler if he does! Would that involve any latenight picking? Or would you and Tyler come do some hotel-lobby picking after the second show?

Susan,

I am probably only going to be able to make the early show, and I will need to pick up Tyler from the sitter by 9:30 p.m., so my time will be limited unfortunately. Don't think i am going to try to bring Tyler to the show, and hoping my friend, who also has a little boy, can watch him.

You guys are welcome to stay at my home in Allentown if you would like, I have a futon in the living room if you don't mind sleeping on that. I do have two cats, just in case either of you is allergic? I am about 1/2 hour from Godfrey Daniels in the West End of Allentown. 25 South 24th Street, 1/2 block from a beautiful city park. Anyway, if you would like to stay with me I can give you some precise directions to get to my home.

If you would rather stay in a hotel, there is a Comfort Suites Hotel, very close to Godfreys... 120 W. 3rd Street, Bethlehem (610) 437-9100

E-mail me at jeff-zehr@pa.nacdnet.org to let me know of your plans.

Looking forward to seeing you and Greg.

-Jeff

P.S. I will pm Seamus also, to see if he needs a place to stay Friday evening, he is also welcome at my place.

P.S.S. Do you know if Dharmabum is coming to see Seamus? He is welcome to stay at my place too if he is coming. I will pm him too.

Jeff,

I am not sure yet where we are staying. Tips on cheap comfies anywhere near GD's? Hardi is Mr. MapMan, so I was leaving that side to him.

You coming to first show or second? We plan both, and dinner between, hopefully snag Seamus to join us, and hopefully where music is welcome. More music after for sure.

I think if alcohol is served that Tyler will not be as welcome as he is in our home, nor have as good a time. BUT who can give up time with Tyler when one has it?!?!?! Can he AND the sitter come, and the sitter can take him for a walk if it gets too boring? I would hate to exclude him from dinner and music, between or after. Tough one. Up to you. We'd sure be glad to see him though.

Oh and please see "The Songs Writ for our Kids," now running in the thread list.

BTW I heard that the Scranton gig I included in a post up above has been canceled by the new manager. Their loss!

Seamus! Come to our house instead! So it's a bit far.... *G* Sing with me Saturday night in church-- you get dinner out of it! *G*

Hi Susan!

Sorry, life has been keeping me too busy to keep up with mudcat threads! Godfreys does have some food, but mostly delicious homemade desserts that go great with coffee. Where are you and Greg staying Friday night? The south side of Bethlehem does have a number of restaurants near Godfreys....the Bridgeworks is pretty good, practically across the street from Godfreys.... there is a good Indian restaurant a couple doors down from Godfreys. There is a Cuban restaurant nearby....The Green Cafe, vegetarian nearby....

What time are you guys planning to get into town? I have Tyler this weekend again, so I haven't decided yet if he will come to the show with me or if I will try to find a sitter? Not so sure he can sit still for a show????

I will bring my guitar, and teach you the lullabye I wrote for Tyler!

-Jeff

Hey you Lehigh-ers...

Did you find any new Catters to bring along to our April 27-30 Gathering up in Tioga County?

And Pete Peterson, are you in on this one yet?

Jeff, Mark, we'd like to return the favor of your willingness to come up this way to visit with us.... Hardi and I are discussing coming over your way for Seamus Kennedy's May 11 concert (two shows, planning dinner between), and staying over after for a little pickin' if anyone wants.

We have to head back Saturday morning, but it looks like you-all could have an all-Seamus weekend:

May 11, 2001
Seamus Kennedy at Godfrey Daniels
Two shows: 7:30 & 9:30 PM
Bethlehem, PA
info: Call (610)867-2390

May 12, 2001
Seamus Kennedy at Clarion Hotel
9:30pm
Scranton, PA
Info: Call (570)344-9811

May 13, 2001 Seamus Kennedy at Bailey's
4:00pm
Levittown, PA
Info: Call (215)946-7993

These are from Seamus' automatic e-mail schedule at at:

http://www.mojam.com

You've never heard Seamus? Well, we have never him live, but we do have his concert CD... What can I say as a recommendation but that we would drive that far to see him even if you weren't all there too. (Of course the sausages along the way in Frackville are part of the attraction, but even without those...!)

Hey, Pete and Ron, small world, I used to live in Raubsville on the Delaware River, right along the bad S curves on Route 611. That would be great if we could carpool or caravan up to WSYWIGS mudcat gathering at the end of April.

Hey all locals:
Let me know when the caravan is going to the WYSIWYG gathering. I hale from Reeders, Monroe County, Stroudsburg area. If I can make it I can follow along or provide some extra passenger space. Maybe we can all meet at the Friendlys at the Lehigh Valley Mall and leave from there.

There's a sing at my house Saturday nite, April 14 (from the Jersey shore group). Any takers? Pete P, Annamill, Ron/Dhurabum? You can PM me or email to susan@digitrad.org [Since I am on a business trip, I cannot access that email until Sunday]

Yeah, form a Subregional Gather down there and we'll come there instead of hosting it here!

But the locals I invited will be wondering where the hell we went!

Dharmadear, how are you gonna camp in your van when you get here-- no room for your gear-- you'll be full up with Catters. No voices by the time you arrive.

Pete P-- don't make me come and git you now! Ask Dharma-- I can be real baaaaddd!

My, this takes me back. I lived in Bethlehem PA years ago, and attended school at St. Urusula's parish.

I haven't seen the area in 25 years, but I have such fond memories of those Middle School days--hiking and biking around the hills, and skating and sledding in the winter, and walking downtown to the Library, and bumming around the Lehigh U campus, hoping to be mistaken for a Real Hippie (as if! :>). I learned to play guitar there, too.

It was a bustling place when I left, but I hear times turned hard for the steel plant workers. Jeff, how's life out there now?

Jeff, you are welcome to come up and over to ours, now planned for the last weekend of April. There is a thread running with the start of details.

It looks like we may have a fair number of local pickers turn up at ours, also-- just found a volunteer to organize that side of it so Hardi and I can relax and enjoy our Mudcat houseguests even more. This should be the first annual "all-weekend-long porch-pickin' party" in the Northern Tier.

Welcome, Jeff. Hope you like the area. I was born in Pittston and grew up in Scranton, both just about an hour to an hour and a half north. I now live in Pittsburgh, but I have a brother who lives near Allentown. Maybe sometime when I'm back that way we could get together. I don't play an instrument, and croak like a frog, but I do enjoy music.

Hi Jeff! Welcome to Mudcat! My husband Glenn and I live over on the Jersey shore and we've had a few gatherings here at our home. We plan to have many more this summer. If you're interested on how they go on, just put "anna" + "gathering"' in the formum search for about 2 years and you'll see what happens at our gatherings here. Every Mudcat is always welcome. I hope you'll be able to come over.

Hi, my name is Jeff and I live in Allentown, PA. I am new to the Mudcat Cafe. What a wonderful resource! I love to play guitar and sing folk music. Looking for other like-minded souls in the Lehigh Valley area to play and sing with. Please drop me a line if you would be interested in having a Lehigh Valley Mudcat gathering. Or maybe such a group already exists?
