Subject: RE: BS: N-Track - Anyone used it? From: Maryrrf Date: 29 Mar 01 - 12:04 PM I downloaded a trial version of n-track and played around with it, then tried Cool Edit and ended up buying Cool Edit. It's only around $48.00 but I ended up buying some options that brought it to around $120, I think. However, I had the problem that it picked up the noise from the computer itself when I recorded into it. I'm a solo singer/guitarist and I decided to buy a minidisc recorder/player - I chose the Sony Walkman model but I think they are all comparable. I record onto that and then run it through Cool Edit to add a bit of reverb. That actually produces a pretty nice quality recording. Tonight I'm going to try to burn a few of the songs I've put onto the computer onto a CD and see how they come out. You might want to try the minidisc option. I also have a small Sony stereo microphone. I was really amazed at the quality of minidisc recording. |

I believe he found a half decent wave recorder/editor and has done some recording through a mixer into his computer. I did something very similar, recording a band with Goldwave. But his software is supposed to be better. |

Subject: N-Track - Anyone used it? From: dwditty Date: 27 Mar 01 - 06:50 AM I am looking for a SIMPLE way to record (mostly one take/track). I have been checking out N-Track. It seems very reasonable at $35 for the full version. Does anyone have any experience with it? Other suggestions? Thanks. dw |
