This is sad news indeed . I fell in love with Nyree Dawn Porter while watching the "Forsyte Saga" (nb sp.) I will always remember Galsworthy's line about blonde hair and brown eyes being an irresistible combination. For me, that surely is true.

The death has been announced of the actress Nyree Dawn Porter age 61. She is probably best remembered for her role as Irene in the 1967 television series "The Forsythe Saga." She also had the role of Caroline di Contini in the 1972 series "The Protectors." Her films include "The Mystery of Edwin Drood" (1993) and "Hilary and Jacky" (1998) in which she played Dame Margot Fonteyn.
