I was at the first of these, in 67 or 68 I think, but have never been able to make it back - until this year, which I sincerely hope is not the last. As well as being one day only (21 July) it's going to be restricted on numbers too, so if you'r planning to go, visit their website and book your ticket.

(The link above didn't work for me, so here it is again: Stainsby Folk Festival.)

Oh, Dorrie, that is so sad. I hope something can be done to save it, esp. from being a landfill! Good luck!

I dont know if any catters go to Stainsby folk festival in Derbyshire-england but they are selling it as the old lady who owns the land died at christmas they are most likely to use the farm land as a land fill site. If u dont know of Stainsby it probably wont bother you but it matters loads to me and my family because dad was a founder of the festival and i have been to every single one within the 17 years of my life. the festival are hoping to raise money to buy the farm but quarter of a million is a lot of money. Unfortunately this year due to foot and mouth disease it will only be a 1 day festival and it maybe the last so every one should try and get down to help raise money and have a great time. i just thought i'd let you know love dorrie xxx p.s visit stainsby website- www.stainsbyfestival.org.uk
