Subject: Lyr Add: PAPA PICCOLINO
From: Jimmy C

Here are the words I received from the site suggested by Yvonne, when I read them all the words came back again.

PAPA PICCOLINO
Oh listen to the music I hear
Old Papa Piccolino is here
To win a smile or may be a tear
Before travelling on
A vagabond he wanders along
A millionaire but only in song
As though the world might really belong to him
This fellow plays a melody so mellow
That everyone keeps shouting 'bello bello'

Cho:
All over Italy they know his concertina
Papa Piccolino, Papa Piccolino
He plays so prettily to every signorina
Papa piccolino from sunny Italy

No matter what the calendars show
It can't be spring I ought to know
Until I hear him sing 'hello hello
I'm here again'
A flower in his battered old hat
A smile for every doggie and cat
And children get the friendliest pat of all
I'll give his name so if you ever meet him
Then you will know exactly how to greet him

Cho:

Amazing ---- As you say Snuffy .... more than 40 years since I heard that yet it has stayed in the memory.
Flawed perhaps but in tact.

Now I can't remember what I did 5 minutes ago and learning lyrics is a nightmare.
Such is life

One or two slight differences, Nutty. But this is from memory of 45 years ago, so I may be wrong

Oh listen to the music I hear
Old Papa Piccolino is here
To bring you a smile or maybe a tear
Before travelling on
A vagabond who travels along
A millionaire but only in song
As though the world might really belong
To him

Also there may have been a second verse about the kids following him down the street, but I can't remember any of that.

I seem to remember it as beginning like this :-

Oh listen to the music we hear
Papa picolinno is here
To bring a smile or maybe a tear
Before travelling on
Oh listen(?) as he travels along
A millionaire but only in song
He makes the world really belong
To him

This fella plays a melody so mella
Everybodys shouting - Bella , Bella

Looking for the words of an Italian song. I only remember some words e.g.
All over Italy he plays his concertino
Papa Piccollino, Papa Piccollino
He plays so merrily for every senorina
Papa Piccollino
From sunny Italy

Oh listen to the music I hear ?

Not too sure if the above is the correct spelling.

I have searched the DT but nothing shows up. Any help would be appreciated.
