Subject: RE: Is Charlottesville the US' Barcelona? From: Allan C. Date: 29 Jun 01 - 07:28 PM That's a fairly nice article, Mrrzy. It comes close to doing justice to Johnboy Walton's old stomping grounds as they appear today. The one thing that C'ville doesn't have enough of is folk venues. But other than that, it really does deserve its rating as the number one small city in the U.S.. (Was that in the Places Rated Almanac or elsewhere? I really can't remember.) If anyone would want to know some more particulars about Charlottesville, just send a PM to me or look up my email addy in the Mudcat resources. I am not a native C'villian; but I do admire the place. However, there are mountains that are calling my name. |

Subject: RE: Is Charlottesville the US' Barcelona? From: Mrrzy Date: 29 Jun 01 - 12:14 PM No blicky at all, not even one that doesn't work, this is a new one! The article is http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A58224-2001Jun28.html. I got a blicky to work on the practice thread, I really did, once, so there! |

Subject: Is Charlottesville the US' Barcelona? From: Mrrzy Date: 29 Jun 01 - 12:12 PM Check this out is my attempt to do a blicky to this article comparing our Downtown Mall to Las Ramblas. I think Las Ramblas had fewer buskers... and the article doesn't even TALK about all the music, for shame! clickable text here ---Jeff (PA)--- |
