hope this helps anyone else who has had as much trouble finding it as i have. i have been looking for approx. 15 years.

If anyone can tell me who the artist is to this song please let me know. i have searched for years for it with no luck. went to various sites, record stores, and radio stations. no luck so far. any help would be greately appreciated. checked every one of Bob Dylan songs that i could find with no luck. every Ray Sawyer site that i have found has Dr. Hook on it, but does not have this song. thanks again.

They use the expression "Dylan repertoire", but I haven't seen any trace of this song on other Dylan sites.
What a beautiful sad song that is. I have never encountered it before. But it was fun locating it.

Thanks, Wolfgang, that's the one. Now if I can only get through. That site seems to be sort of a Scandinavian AOL, so I expect users come and go.

I had never picked this up in a search, but the Hazel Smith part helps. I found an article which said Dr. Hook had recorded nine of her songs.
