The seventh annual fiddler's convention will be held Friday and Saturday, July 20 and 21, at the Higgins Agricultural Fairgrounds on U.S. 21 in Sparta. The weekend will be filled to the brim with bluegrass and old time music by pickers of all ages. Wanna Camp? The fairgrounds open to campers on Wednesday, July 18 at 2 p.m. Camping is first come, first served. No reservations. Spaces are $10 per night, with or without hookups. About the Fairgrounds The Higgins Agricultural Fairgrounds has clean restrooms with showers. There's spacious covered grandstand seating, or you can bring a lawn chair for a close-up view of the action on stage. Admission The Alleghany County Fiddler's Convention is a weekend of fun with friendly folks in Northwest North Carolina! Admission is $6 for Friday, $7 for Saturday, or $10 for both days.
