Subject: Montreal Celtic Festival - King Chiaullee From: GUEST,Bobby Bob, Ellan Vannin Date: 08 Aug 01 - 04:27 PM King Chiaullee (Musical heads) from the Isle of Man played at Yn Chruinnaght (the Manx national festival with guests from the Celtic countries), then went off to play for the Celtic Congress annual conference in Rennes, Brittany. Last weekend they moved up to take part in the Festival Interceltique in Lorient in Brittany. After that, they're off to take part in the Montreal Celtic Festival. They're a young group who've been associated with Manx music, basically since they were born. They take the traditional tunes and bring to them a wide range of influences without losing sight of their origins. So for those of you able to get to the Montral Celtic Festival next weekend, look out for King Chiaullee (pronounced roughly 'king yawlee'). I think they're great, and that's not just because it's my son and his friends who make up the group. They are, in fact, shit hot, so catch them while you can (and stop them and ask them for their CD which is called 'Baase Cooil Stroo')! Shoh slaynt, Bobby Bob
