MUSTARD'S RETREAT -- David Tamulevich and Michael Hough -- will be coming to Brooklyn, NY, on Friday evening, October 5, 2001, to appear in a New York Pinewoods Folk Music Club "Folk Off-Broadway" concert. The show begins at 8 PM.

Hailing from Ann Arbor, Michigan, this duo is celebrating their 25th year together. The group's name does not come from a historical event or old fiddle tune, as is often believed, but from a musical chum named Nancy Mustard, who taught David a guitar slide, around which he wrote an instrumental called "Mustard's Retreat." David Tamulevich and Michael Hough are respected performers, songwriters and multi-instrumentalists. They accompany their well-blended voices with Tamulevich on guitar, dulcimer, penny whistle, harmonica or concertina; and Hough on guitar, bass or autoharp. Everything Mustard's Retreat does on a stage is aimed at pleasing, moving and engaging their audience, with a selection of their own gentle love songs and vivid ballads, their tall tales and their repertoire of treasures from America's vast traditional songbag. They have six recordings, along with two children's books and an accompanying CD. Garnet Rogers says, "Their music is community music. It comes from our common roots and traditions, pays tribute to those roots and expands on them. It is music that speaks to people's hearts and lives and binds them together as an audience."

Presented with the cooperation of Polytechnic University as part of the larger Music at Metrotech program.
Venue: Wunsch Hall € Polytechnic University
Metrtech Center € Brooklyn, NY

Date and time: Oct. 5, 2001 at 8 PM
