Hi

I have tried to find information myself, and yes I have been tutored on library skills, but not specifically on general searching on the internet.

The chart sites I've been able to locate only feature more recent information, and I've posted on Mudcat in the hope that someone might be able to suggest a starting point. I see nothing wrong in using Mudcat in an educational way, and can assure you that I am fully aware of the requirements of doing an MA. I am currently working extremely hard on completing it whilst trying to support myself financially at the same time and have to say that I find your post incredibly patronising.

I do actually have a lot of this kind of information already, mostly from other sources on the topic, but am looking to find it myself rather than quote it from someone else's work. While you may consider asking for help to defeats the object of this, you should be aware that most people have been very interested and willing to help me with my research, and, on this occasion I've asked for help as a) a last resort, b)to save valuable time and c) to save money from being online searching through irrelevant material. I don't expect anyone to look for me, and if no one is aware of any sites then I'll return to the drawing board.

And who are you anyway and why are you posting anonymously?

Louisa

You're doing an MA, I believe?

Were you not given any tutelage on library skills? Or internet searching skills?

A clue - think a bit about what you're are trying to find and try thinking laterally. Use www.google.com

I'm sorry if I'm no help, but part of getting an MA involves doing it yourself.

btw - the info is out there...

Hi

Can anyone point in the direction of any album and single chart sites in the uk? Looking in particular for details of hit folk and folk rock records 1960s and 1970s.

Thanks

Louisa
