Thanks Mountain Dog for confirming that the Band's version didn't start like that and for correcting the album title. Will learn it anyway and you're right it's a stomping album I had it years ago on vinyl

Jim, you're right about the first part of the opening verse. On the album, the Band jumped right in on the line: "I used to smoke..."

Actually, "Saved" is on the Band's "Moondog Matinee" album, a collection of covers they first started dowing when they were "The Hawks", fist backing up Ronnie Hawkins and later on their own. (It is a stomper, ain't it?)

I found it using the supersarch (Digitrad and Forum Search box, main forum page), with Leiber and Stoller as my search term, and then I did a Find in Page for SAVED.

You can see how quick it was since I came back and wrote all this in just a few minutes.

I'm after a song that appears on the Band album Cahoots. I think it's a Leiber and Stoller song and it's called SAVED. By the way I've looked on the BAND's site it's mentioned but no lyrics. Anybody help
