Barbara: That's what I get for posting messages when I'm tired. No, we moved to Derby The Smallest City In Connecticut. But, Branford IS right around the corner. A relative Skip and a jmup. Say Hello to Skip for me, anyway. I'll be doing a concert with my Gospel Group, The Gospel Messengers Saturday, October 13 at the First Baptist Church in Shelton. We do old black gospel quartet music... hard to find around anymore. The concert is at 7 p.m., at the church, which is on Route 110 (Hoew Ave exit off 8), about a mile and a half out of town. So, what is the Musical Art Society?

You moved to Branford? Welcome! Skip's concert is sponsored by the Musical Art Society, not BFMS - who are presenting Tom Lewis and Shipping News the following night at Trinity Coffeehouse.

Hello, Branford!

Sorry I won't be able to make the concert, as Skip (andBFMS) are old friends. Skip played fiddle on my Handful of Songs album, and I've always loved his playing. Same goes for Jeff Davis... haven't seen or heard them in a long time. My wife Ruth and I moved up to Branford, CT a few months ago. Right around the corner. If you ever get the urge, you can reach me at gospelmessengers@msn.com.

Skip Gorman and his Waddie Pals (Mary Burdette on bass and harmony vocals and Jeff Davis on fiddle and banjo) will be performing THIS FRIDAY, Oct 12, 2001 at the Blackstone Library, 8 pm in Branford, CT, USA. It's a fundraiser (tickets at the door are $12) for a music scholarship for a graduating high school student.

For those of us who love his songs, stories and poems of the Old West (1840 to 1900), this is the venue to hear it best. The library auditorium is an acoustic gem, and this trio is wonderful.
