Snuffy, are you privy to inside information regarding the true identity of "GUEST, gargoyle"?

Murray

Thanks gargoyle, after a twelve year absence, this will now be resurrected at my local club

Brilliant - thanks gg - I've been trying to find this for ages. Yeah Mr Red, it was at The Buffalo, famous for the cold when the sessions were held under in the previous owner's regime - (one of the regulars used to take a hottie with her). It's now owned by a bloke who also has a company making wood burners and Sal has made a point of mentioning it on the flyer. Cheers.

"local mick", Spaw? In Britain it's a Nicholas, not a Michael.

Subject: Lyr Add: BREATHALYZED (Fred Wedlock)
From: GUEST,.gargoyle

Breathalyzed

Breathalyzed,
Crystals turning green before my eyes.
I can hardly realize, that I have just been breathalyzed.

Suddenly,
There's a policeman standing over me.
I'd like to punch him but he's six foot three,
And I would like to stay alive.

He said, We'd like to test your blood for alcohol
I said, Go away, you'll get nothing, Dracula.

Reality,
Five hundred milligrams per 100 mils.
Now they reckon, I'm a mobile still,
and I have to be penalized.

Custody,
When they took me to the local mick,
I've never seen a policeman move so quick,
But not as quick, as I got sick

Misery,
And the judge says I must join AA
And take the bus for 60 days.
Oh, why did I get breathalized?

It's a Fred Wedlock parody. Maybe it's on one of his CD's.
Trevor - was that at the Buffalo? Mrs Lemon said they had resumed for the winter and now have a wood burning stove to sing around every 2nd Wed.

It's on Seamus Kennedy's new CD. Another for my Christmas shopping list.

I heard Nonnie James sing this a while ago recently in a pub session in Clun. Coincidentally I e-mailed her a couple of weeks ago asking for the words (I thought she'd written it) but with no response yet. You could try - she can be contacted through the site for BBC Radio Hereford & Worcester. If you have any luck can you let me know as well please.

Cheers
