Marymarymary, my mother used to sing me that song, don't know what it's called:

Red and yellow and pink and green, orange and purple and blue,

I can sing a rainbow, sing a rainbow, sing a rainbow too.

Listen with your eyes, Listen with your eyes,

And sing everything you see.

You can sing a rainbow, sing a rainbow, sing along with me.

Forget Captain Kangaroo; post the Captain Noah theme song! Something about "Red and yellow and pink and green and purple and orange and blue...."

So, did *every* city have a Captain show?

Thanks Wolfgang!

Mark - I'll look around for Captain Kangaroo lyrics. Seems to me if they exist, they should be on the Net somewhere.

Hey, I don't see Captain Kangaroo. Growing up in Philadelphia in the late 50s and early 60s, it was one of my favorite shows: Mr. Moose, Grandfather Clock, Bunny Rabbit, Mr. Green Jeans, and all. The theme song was an instrumental....but when my family went to New York for a weekend, I turned on the show in our hotel room and they were singing words to the song! Anybody know them? (I still remember the melody.)

Aloha,
Mark

I rarely watch TV, but here's one I can contribute by a link. Since centuries (or decades?) of old, the children program in German TV ends with the 5 minutes appearance of Sandmännchen (the little sandman; John of dreams).

Sandmännchen Seite

The lyrics printed in the score (Sandmann, lieber Sandmann, es ist noch nicht so weit) start the five minutes, and the lyrics (not immediately) below that (Kinder, liebe Kinder, es hat mir Spass gemacht...) are the goodbye song.

Mark,

Thanks for thh compliments and the info. I didn't know about the connection, but I will add it to the site, and credit you & Mudcat as the source.

I've worked hard collecting the lyrics & have about 20 songs on the PC that I need to transcribe and a short list of others I need to find.

I hope I can get some leads on international lyrics

Hey all - please get me those lyrics of your favorite shows!

Thanks in advance.

Outstanding work! You introduced us to this site on my TV theme songs quiz thread, and I'm glad you reintroduced it. By the way, one of your favorites, the theme to the Black Sheep Squadron, is the chorus to The Whiffenpoof Song, the "official" song of Yale (which was always a source of great amusement to us Princetonians!), written in 1909 as a parody of a Kipling poem. But you knew that, right? The folk process sure is something!

Aloha,
Mark

Greetings all,

I have a website that has TV theme lyrics on it. About 350 at last count. Check it out if you want, make comments if you like.

http://members.tripod.com/blackcatter/

I'm asking the wonderful Mudcat Community if they have any particular favorites that I'm missing. Please let me know.

I'd especially would like to have more lyrics of Canadian, British and Australian shows and well as from all of the other wonderful English-speaking countries.

Actually I'd love to get some for non-English-speaking countries as well.

If you know of any, please contribute them here or email me:
