We's on our way with the left-over turkey shanties!

Shift that bird, screw it down,
Fire Merigngo, fire 'im away!
Let's get back to Portsmouth Town,
Fire Merigngo, fire 'im away!

Charley, is that the one that goes:

Oh a poor old bird my wife did buy
And we say so! And we know so!
A poor old bird my wife did buy
Poor old bird

or is it the one with the "Johnny come down to dinner" refrain?
Never seen the like since I wuz born
Turkey an' stuffin' an' taters and corn,
Johhny come down to dinner
And eat the bird
Oh wake him, oh shake him
It's the middle of the day, and he ain't stirred
Johnny come down to dinner
And eat the bird

Micca, you still have time to get here. ;-)

Yeah, Friday after Thanksgiving has the potential of being a little more quiet than usual sessions -- we might be able to hear ourselves! Then again, some years people come out of the woodwork.

Oh, Micca! Wish you were here!

Bat Goddess

As Jeri says, the session will be about the same as usual. It being a holiday long weekend might make for a smaller crowd which would be nice. Hope to see you there Charlie, and any other Mudcatters who might be in the neighbourhood -- Tom

Session will be the same as usual, as far as I know: no plans, no telling what will happen.

I'm thinking of running down to Portsmouth this Friday to join the regular music session. Is there anything special going on with regard to theme, format, or out-of-town guests? I doubt if I can convince any other Roll & Go members to attend; the older they get the more determined they are to cling to whatever shelter they have found.

We are also planning another Shanty Swap at the China Sea Marine Trading Company in Portland between Christmas and New Years for Thursday, December 27th; I'll start a new thread on that soon.
