There is mention of something brewing on Pete and Maura Kennedy's website, but it seems to have been a while ago. Go to this website and scroll down to "Chapter 6: 1997. It's in the third paragraph.

Where this is now, I don't know.

Then scroll down to Q: What is your "agenda"?

Well, here is John's Home Page with links to the various pages. I couldn't find a mention of it anywhere there......

In the Newsletter section of John McCutcheon's website (he is current(?) president of Musicians Local 1000), and at the e-tradnet website for Irish musicians, currently being updated by Steve Cooney.

Sorry I don't have the bookmarked sites to hand, I'm at a different computer, but if no one posts the links, I'll do it as soon as I can.

BTW, neither of the websites (McCutcheon's or tradnet) have much beyond a mention of it, and a web search proved fruitless. Which is why I asked here. I too have heard many horror stories about musicians getting a bad deal from Green Linnet.

For what its worth, there is no mention of this on either the Green Linnet or the Local 1000 web sites. BTW, the Green Linnet site is a great place to go for music to listen to while surfing...a lot of their albums are available "live".

Could you provide a link for us to where you saw the mention? I'd be interested in knowing more about this. Awhile back I posted something about record labels and it was mentioned that the Kennedy Family had had a major problem with Green Linnet (they didn't get paid!)and I've heard rumours of other artists, too, who got stiffed. I don't know if that ever came to the point of a lawsuit. Mind you there may be a Green Linnet side, too - disputes about advances, etc.

Doing some web surfing, I came across mention of a class action lawsuit against Green Linnet by Musicians Local 1000. Anyone have any information on this?
