Subject: From Iceland II. From: GUEST,Skarpi Iceland . Date: 10 Dec 01 - 03:14 PM Halló all, once again i pop in to mudcat with some news or tips from Iceland. As some of you may know we have a Naval airforce base here in Iceland, In Keflavík. Well there is a helecopter rescue team the 56th rescue. Last Friday we had a very bad storm and we lost one of our fishing boat at shore of Snæfellsnes, and three man died but one was rescued by the 56th rescue team after our coastcard helecopter had to go away becouse of tecnical proplems, the wind was blowing from the west and was from 25 to 30 meters pr/hour and I know that In the helecopter that the 56th have there are two onethousand horsepowerengine. So these soldiers are heros, once again the 56th rescue did a great rescue for us here in Iceland. Few years ago I had some training with the 56th rescue and and did some flying with them and I think the jop they are doing Is one of the hardest I know about here In Iceland becouse of wheather. You may also know that the 56th rescue team is one best rescue teams in the U.S.A . I am proud to be 25% american. And some news of my self, six months ago I was 120kg. I felt bad and I wanded to do something about it so I went to the ( jim ) and changed my foot and started to eat six times a day. Well today I am 92kg, I have lost 28kg In six months and In January I am starting In program called " The body for life " I think you know that one. Andsome days I sing the Beatles song " I feel fine " I am proud of my self and I am not going back to be fat again. So it´s no BEER and No Junkfood. My band Tamóra is not playing at the moment becouse some of us is studing in shcool but we meet one Sunday in every month to keep the music a live. Last week we had snow and cold wheather but this week we have rain and heat and wind and I think its remind us of the summertime, hmmmmm summertime in Desember hmmm not bad. I see that there are some new names in the mudcat family and I welcome you all, sorry its late but I have some computers proplems at the moment, theres a new one coming very soon. So enough of this talking time to move on and play my guitar and sing some songs for my self, I am trying to play a song from Ireland called Maggie its a great song. All the best to you all skarpi Iceland. |
