Have the record here. Looks like predates stereo. Golden Slumbers: lullabies from near and far with Pete Seeger and Oscar Brand and others. The others include Jean Ritchie, Frank Cooke, Juanita Cascone, Ruth Wecome, Elizabeth Knight, Wallace House, Robin Roberts. If you want to post to me at [e-mail], I can see aabout sending you a tape. (Depends on whether this will play on any of the stereo equipment we now own.) Remember how we used to put a penny on the needle head to make the records track? I think this may be one of those. Thanks for the info Alice, I do remember the tune, so the words are fine. I would really still like the album or a copy of it, so if anyone has any information on it...

Carolyn, I posted the lyrics last Oct. in a thread about Women's Work Songs. If you do a forum search with the word 'slumbers' in the body and 'Alice' in the name, you will find it. Unfortunately, I can't remember what old book it was in, so I don't have the tune for you. It may even have been a book from the library. Darn it, wish I had saved more info on it. alice in montana

Carolyn, I have that somewhere in a songbook. It is an old English lullabye, just can't remember which book it is in at the moment. I'll post it when I find it. Some of the words are the same as the Beatles song, but the tune is different. alice in montana

About 20 odd years ago I found a record in the library of lullabyes by various artists, Pete Seeger being one, called _Golden Slumbers_. I recorded the record, but it has long since worn out. I can no longer find the record or information about it. Can anyone help me out?
