I remember Chris's days in the Pigsty Hill Light Orchestra. I don't remember too much of the repertoire but I do remember him practicing note perfect at double or triple speed some complex blues piece. AND the night he was invited to play on stage with Stephane Grapelli, AND the amazing dueting with Máire's harp.
Impressed is too shallow a word.

You're going to be in New Jersey. Great. I'll try and get there.

Seamus, the time I saw them in Llandudno folk club, my eyes were firmly fixed on his fingers just to make sure he wasn't cheating and it wasn't a recording I was listening to!

One of the reasons I'm playing at the North Texas Irish Festival in March is that Chris and Maire are performing there. He is the most incredible guitarist (sorry Jed and Rick) I've seen in a long tome. I loved his work when he was backing Fred Wedlock, but at a session after the festival last year, he was AMAZING. Anything...he can play anything! Folk, bluegrass, country, jazz, classical, Celtic..all at the same time. Jed, after we do our thing (Oh by the way, did you rehearse while you were gallivanting around up there with God's frozen people?) come and sit in the session with Chris and the others.

Seamus

Only one entry...or did the rest drop off somehow?

I thought the Old Songs gig was the most important news since so many mudcatters go there, so I edited down to that.

The whole tour schedule is here if my blue clicky maker is working tonight.

Peter.

Anne Murray did a good job with a little good news in the 80's, give it a listen.

Well it would be better news for me if they were travelling to Norfolk UK... That said, it is good news for those who could get to see them. They are quite fantastic.

PS, Midchuck, I don't think this thread deserves a BS title.
