Thanks for that, I'll have him check those out. I suspected that they were pretty much all the same size, but I'm not too familiar with them.

I've read on one of the threads here that Jasmine guitars are junk, but the only one I've actually seen was a Jasmine JS241 half/size classic that Elderly Instruments sold for $95.00, complete with gig bag. I'm used to really high quality classic guitars, but I must say the this little Jasmine was not half bad. Good workmanship, fairly well made, and although I wouldn't want to walk out on the stage at Carnegie Hall with it, it didn't sound bad at all. Terrific for the price! Jasmine also makes a couple of full-size classics.

Apart from reduced size classics like the JS241 (usually for young students), classic guitars are pretty much of a size, give or take a quarter of an inch here and there.

Steve I mentioned this before in another thread if you or your friend are near a college town check the pawn shops for the college students money is getting a little tight and they pawning some very nice and expensive instruments and these can be purchased for about a third of the cost of a new one.Louie Roy

THe Yamaha sounds a good price to me. They do turn out decent quality production line instruments which puts them in the entry level price bracket although they generally play better than that. I have a Yamaha APX Nylon and my big stumpy fingers love it!

Steve, you might check out Elderly instruments on line. (www.Elderly .com) I got a wonderful mandolin through Elderly, sight unseen. They do have a policy that allows you to send it back if you don't like it. I was very satisfied with the service and the instrument. Good luck. KT

I can' t beat it, Steve, pricewise, but I have a like-new Takamine Jasmine cutaway acoustic-electric nylon string guitar that I would like to sell. (If you are somewhere between Seattle, WA and Eugene, OR, you can see it.)

There is nothing wrong with it, but, having bought it because I thought nylon strings would be easier on arthritis than light guage bronze or steel, I found that the wider neck on a classical guitar is actually more a problem for me than the heavier strings are.

If your friend or anyone is interested, please let me know. I paid $400 for it (list over $500) and have hardly used it. I would sell it for $300 or consider other offers.

I have a friend of mine who has started to play the guitar. He is borrowing a Classical Guitar, is learning Classical and now wants to get a guitar of his own.

Does anyone have a decent Classical Guitar that they want to sell? He is in the Torotno area and would prefer something that he could see before he buys, but seeing it is not a prerequisite.

He has seen a new entry level Yamaha for about $200 CDN (approximately $130 U.S.). He almost bought it, but is open to seeing if he can get a better used one for roughly the same budget.

By the way, he is quite a big man with large hands, so he would be interested in a larger guitar if there is such a thing in the Classical world.
