When you throw away those cirulars from the bank, make sure you aren't giving someone the opportunity to steal your identity..... it's so easy to pull one out of the bin and start off as someone else... rip those buggers to shreds and put them in different bins!!

My mom's minister's husband died in a swimming accident last summer, in his forties. It was in the papers.

Sure enough, some lowlife appropriated his identity and perpetrated some credit card frauds.

So if you are known to be a dead person with a good credit rating, seems like it's pretty likely to happen.

Everyone, not just credit bureaus, can find out enough about you to become you on plastic....so it seems.

Kendall, my advice is to check these things out at the various sites that have been repeatedly posted here. This is one.

Anything that says "send this to everyone in your address book" is probably a scam.
