Spaw, that ain't the half of it!! Do you have any idea how many horns a real pro "has to" have these days??? B-flat, C, Piccolo, gig bags, Silent Brass for practicing without disturbing neighbors, mouthpieces galore, stands, music, instruction -- not to mention performance garb.

I'm just really glad she didn't fall in love with tubas, or decide to be a stock-car racer!

Seriously I have truly loved watching Barky's passion for music unfold and find its direction. And I must say she's doing a MUCH better job of it than I did at her age. My passions at 17 were downright disreputable! My mother actually suggested I might want to think about leaving town. In Barky's case, while we are striving to help her leave town with all the help we can muster, we are gonna hate living without her!!

That's kinda like that evolution thing, huh?

MMmario, I jes' LOVES yore heart, boy!! LOL!!!

She called by cell a while back and announced that she had been grinning all day so hard her cheeks were sore -- she had a little daydream that a cop pulled her over for a taillight or something and she just grinned at him -- she's driving along with the acceptance letter in her lap, jes' grinnin' like a fool! LOL Ya gotta love it. It's a high moment, considering some of the firedrills we have been through over the last ten years!

We're all still emanating some kinda weird glow.

Maybe it's that cell phone radiation thing I heard about....

Congratulations to you and Barky, Amos!

We had the same "floating around a few inches off the ground" feeling a few months ago when my son was accepted to the film program at his school on the basis of his portfolio.

It's a wonderful feeling indeed. Enjoy it! You both deserve it.

Well here's one household that is floating around a few inches off the ground today.

Barky just got a letter from the San Francisco Conservatory accepting her for the BA Music program there -- her life's dream!! And on top of that, they told they were giving her a $5K scholarship, stating "the committee and faculty were truly impressed with the results of your audityion for asdmission...".

Well, she's jumping up and down like a wildflower on a binge, and we're all grinning like banshees and thinking about.... college expenses. (!!!) :>)

But that notwithstanding, we are all full of joy and delight and ...

I just had to share the delight with my friends.
