If you were to type colleen malone into the very useful "Digitrad and Forum Search" box on the main Forum page (it searches the Digitrad and Forum), you would find this:

COLLEEN MALONE

The text given (and recorded by Hot Rize) is the original, so far as I know; it looks like an American song ("stage Irish" or modern), rather than the real thing. Nobody was able to give any information as to what tune it was sung to, though; perhaps it was set to an older melody which might have had Irish antecedents. Anyone care to enlarge on that?
