Suffering a bit of mental doxlicksyia here, I thought the thread was *Army's answering machine* and that reminded me of being Orderly Corporal for my unit in Germany some years back. When the phone rang, I answered. Being totally bored, I once picked up the phone and said "British Army here, do you want to fight?". I also phoned the talking clock, then put the call through to my opposite number in neighbouring squadron office. He still thinks the speaking clock rang HIM.

Agree with Bill regarding the level of amusement therein, but hey, humor is a personal thing.

I guess because I know of mothers who infinitely micro-mother their offspring into adulthood, I could understand Amy's situation and believe her mother's messages are genuine.

I for one was not all that amused, and was a little skeptical that the mother wasn't actually reading some of it from a script, but, that's just me.

I have not laughed out loud like this for so long... Last week I heard some of the messages Amy Borkowsy has been saving on her answering machine of her Mother calling to give advice.
