When I was in Iran during the revolution food supplies were very limited.

Spam was available and so were vegetable pickles. Together with some sugar and corn starch they make a reasonable 'sweet and sour' stir fry.

For what it's worth, I found this quote in a Project Gutenberg eBook: Four Boy Hunters or, The Outing of the Gun Club by Captain Ralph Bonehill, 1906:

Looking for the words to this song. Anyone know. Checked the DT with no specific luck. Lotsa songs with the word "Ham" in them. Any ideas anyone?
